Aniimo “Paws Up” Second Closed Beta: New Content, Regions, and Features
Aniimo’s “Paws Up” Second Closed Beta is the game’s biggest test so far, adding new regions, creatures, and modes ahead of its 2026 launch.
Second Closed Beta Start, Access, and Platforms
The “Paws Up” Second Closed Beta officially begins on January 23, 2026, after a short delay to fix a story-blocking bug in the main quest. Recruitment for this test ends January 20 at 23:59 (UTC+8), and only players who successfully registered via the official website questionnaire are eligible. This CBT is global and runs on PC and iOS TestFlight, with your exact platform access depending on what your invitation email specifies.
New Regions and Environments
CBT2 expands Idyll with multiple new regions and refreshed older zones. XboxEra’s feature and press material highlight new ecosystems like Driftwise Meadow, Sandcastle Hill, and Rosetower Wood, each with distinct Aniimo behaviors and environmental interactions. Existing areas from the first beta also get updated layouts, new puzzles, and additional native Aniimo species to discover.
New Aniimo, Bosses, and Legendary Irelia
The “Paws Up” test introduces a roster of new Aniimo plus upgrades to returning favorites. New creatures include Fentuft and Nimbi, whose shifting moods visibly influence their surroundings, and Eko, a sound-detection Aniimo added in response to community feedback about locating enemies and secrets. Many previously available Aniimo gain new evolutions, behaviors, and animations to better support Twining and co-op roles.
CBT2 also debuts powerful Boss Aniimo across regions, including rare iridescent variants and the first-ever Legendary Aniimo, Irelia. Irelia appears as a story-driven legendary whose full narrative unlocks for the first time in this test, giving players an early taste of late-game-style encounters.
New “Egg Heist” Mode and Social Features
One of the headline additions is Operation: Egg Heist, a large-scale PvE/PvP “extraction-style” mode set on the Lost Isles. Teams of three Pathfinders explore maze-like zones and dungeons to hunt for treasure and rare Aniimo eggs, using terrain tricks and abilities to outplay both enemies and rival squads. Coverage describes Egg Heist as pushing Aniimo into co-op PvPvE territory, with server-wide competition for eggs at the end of each run.
CBT2 also upgrades home-building and social systems, letting players customize their homestead further and interact more with friends between runs. An official Instagram preview teases a slate of CBT2 activities and rewards, including daily missions, co-op events, and beta-only cosmetic or resource bonuses.
Why This Beta Matters
FunPlus and Kingsglory call “Paws Up” a major step toward launch, built “hand-in-hand with the community.” The test is designed to stress new regions, Aniimo behaviors, large-scale modes like Egg Heist, and expanded social systems before Aniimo’s full 2026 release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and mobile. Since all progress is wiped afterward, think of CBT2 as your chance to sample endgame-style content early and feed feedback into the final leg of development, without worrying about “ruining” your launch account.
