Arknights Endfield Region-by-Region Exploration Breakdown and Recommended Power Levels

Arknights Endfield Artwork 7

Regions in Arknights: Endfield are tuned more by Area Status (Stable → Active → Bustling → Prosperous) and outpost development than by a single fixed level number, but community and beta data give rough power benchmarks per region and status. A safe rule is to enter new zones at roughly story-appropriate levels, then only push Area Status upward once your main team’s level and gear are clearly ahead of local enemies.

Region Overview and Progression Flow

Endfield’s launch map revolves around three main regions plus sub-areas.

  • Wuling
    • Early/mid region tied to Hongshan Academy; lots of water, labs, and early Aurylens/secret mechanics.
  • Valley IV
    • Frontier mining zone on Talos-II and location of the Hub; heavy use of bombs and mining/explosives for exploration.
  • OMV Dijiang
    • Mobile base / hub region with Growth Chambers and production facilities rather than standard field combat.

Other named sub-regions (e.g., Aburrey Quarry, Originium Science Park) plug into these major areas and often have their own Area Status and outpost progression.

Area Status Ranks and Difficulty Scaling

Each explorable region has four Area Status ranks that govern enemy strength and resource density.

Area StatusEnemiesResources / AIC capacityNotes
StableLowest strength; below region’s max level range.Fewest rare resource spawns; standard AIC building limits.Default for new regions; safest for underleveled teams.
ActiveStronger than Stable; elites begin to appear.Slightly more rare resources; higher AIC structure limit.Often unlocked via early regional quest or first outpost upgrade.
BustlingEnemies significantly stronger; elites common and in packs.Much higher rare resource density; more AIC structures allowed.Designed for mid–late builds; good farm zone.
ProsperousEnemies at max strength for the region; elites at max threat.Maximum rare resources; maximal AIC structure limits.True endgame setting for that region.

Upgrading Area Status usually requires raising local Outpost Level and sometimes finishing regional quests, and higher status demands much stronger squads.

Numbers vary by team quality and skill, but current beta/creator recommendations give a rough progression baseline.

  • Early Wuling (Stable)
    • Recommended: operators around Lv 20–30 (Elite 1) with basic skills and starter gear.
    • Use: first exploration, basic resource gathering, early Growths and Aurylens.
  • Valley IV Stable → Active
    • Stable: ~Lv 30–40 main team, with at least one promoted DPS and defender.
    • Active: closer to Lv 40–50 (E2 range) plus improved weapons; bombs and AIC tools become mandatory for exploration.
    • Guides recommend carrying ~50 bombs for Valley IV exploration due to frequent destructible walls and ore.
  • Aburrey Quarry / mid-game mining zones
    • Stable/Active: similar to mid-Valley IV; around Lv 40–50 for comfort.
    • Later Area Status levels here scale off total Outpost Level; Prosperous is meant as late-game content.
  • Wuling Active → Bustling
    • Active: around Lv 40–60, once your main DPS, defender, and support are at E2 and weapons upgraded.
    • Bustling/Prosperous: endgame range for the region; best tackled after story clear with Lv 70–90 squads and strong weapons.
  • Umbral / Agony-style endgame stages
    • Current beta advice: plan around Lv 80–90 for “Agony” difficulty Umbral Monument stages and similar endgame encounters.

These are soft targets: highly optimized comps can clear slightly early, but most beginner and power-level guides warn against jumping Area Status or late regions while under these breakpoints.

Practical Region-By-Region Strategy

A straightforward, safe path looks like this.

  • Wuling (Stable): clear early quests and story while leveling to ~20–30, unlock Growth Chambers and basics in OMV Dijiang.
  • Valley IV (Stable): push story and start AIC; reach ~30–40 and set up initial mining/smelting/gear lines.
  • Upgrade Valley IV to Active and push Aburrey Quarry/Originium Science Park as you approach ~40–50 and strengthen weapons.
  • Return to Wuling and other regions on Active/Bustling once your main squad hits ~50–60 and your base/backing economy feel stable.
  • After story clear and higher outpost levels, raise regions to Bustling/Prosperous and tackle Umbral Agony once your carries and weapons are near 80–90.

If your operators are consistently below the enemies’ level by more than a full Elite tier and fights feel like stat checks rather than mechanics checks, most guides suggest dropping Area Status down or farming lower-status regions until gear and levels catch up.
