Stella Sora Game Modes Explained: Monolith, Menace Arena, Story, Limit Break Battles
Stella Sora offers a diverse selection of game modes, each designed to test your Trekkers, build team synergy, and challenge your strategy. Here’s an overview of the main modes and how they work for October 2025.
Monolith Mode
Monolith is the core roguelike progression mode and forms the backbone of character building in Stella Sora.
- How it works: You select three Trekkers (Vanguard/DPS, Support, Versatile) and clear randomly generated floors packed with battles, bosses, and choices. During each run, you earn buffs (Melodies, Potentials), equip Discs, and optimize builds for that session.
- Records: Every finished run saves a “Record, “a snapshot of the full setup and buffs, which is used for other modes.
- Unlimited play: Unlike most gachas, Monolith has no stamina restrictions, repeat as often as you want for optimal builds.
- Progression: Building Trekkers in Monolith boosts their stats and opens up other battle modes.
Story Mode
Story mode immerses you in the lore of Nova and the journeys of each Trekker.
- Branching narrative: Your choices as Tyrant influence the direction and outcome of the main plot, unlocking new Trekkers and features.
- Account level gating: Some content and modes unlock as your Authorization Level (account level) increases, so progress through the story for full game access.
Menace Arena
An infinite challenge mode where you test Trekker Records against endless waves or other players.
- Unlocks at Authorization Level 4.
- Gameplay: Use saved Trekkers to battle infinite stages and elemental arenas. This is where you see if your builds from Monolith truly stand up to advanced challenges.
- Rewards: Earn special currencies and materials for progression.
Limit Break Battles (Boss Blitz & Ascension)
High-difficulty boss fights for advanced or endgame players.
- Boss Blitz: Unlocks at Authorization Level 21. This mode features intense timed post-boss stages, rewarding high-level tier-up materials needed to push skills beyond level 7 and gear up for late-game content.
- Ascension: Similar to Monolith, but with higher stakes. Complete multi-floor dungeons, unlock new features, and build Ascension records that power up your Trekkers for all content.
Additional Modes Briefly Explained
- Cataclysm Survivor: Survival mode unlocked at Authorization Level 10; fight endless waves, collect orbs, and buff your team on the fly.
- Apex Showdown: PvP duels unlocked at Level 13 with weekly rewards.
- Last Echo: Challenging raid event (Level 10+) with four difficulties for top-tier teams.
- Bounty Trails: Resource farming modes used to earn skill and tier-up materials; quick battle unlocks after 3-star clear for fast farming.
Energy System: Where Does It Apply?
- Monolith mode is energy-free, run it endlessly to prep Trekkers and get records.
- Energy (“stamina”) applies to Bounty Trails, resource farming, some daily missions, and event dungeons.
Stella Sora’s systems are designed to let you build and test Trekkers in Monolith mode, then bring those records into increasingly tough modes like Menace Arena, Limit Break Battles, and Ascension. Each mode brings new challenges, rewards, and progression, giving players fresh goals at all levels of play.
