Black Beacon Character Affinity Guide: Relationships, Voice Lines, Unlocks

Black Beacon Artwork 19

The Affinity system in Black Beacon lets you build deeper bonds with your characters, unlocking exclusive story lore, voice lines, and costumes. Here’s how it works, how to maximize rewards, and who benefits most, drawing from the 2025 meta and game guides.

How the Affinity System Works

  • Affinity (Affection) Level is unique to each character and unlocks after you clear Stage 1-4 in the Main Story.
  • To increase a character’s Affinity:
    • Give Gifts purchased from the Friendship Store (using Mutual Aid Points) or gained via Gift Certificates from Seer Level rewards.
    • Only characters you have claimed via Retrival Count (not trial story units) are eligible for gifting and Affinity growth.
    • Each character has preferred gifts, giving these earns more Affection points per item.
  • Unique voice lines and extra lore become available at specific Affinity level thresholds, rewarding deeper player-character engagement.
  • Raising Affinity confers:
    • Exclusive costumes/skins (often Radiant series; e.g., Viola unlocks a special costume via Affinity gifting).
    • Extra rewards like Orelium, upgrade resources, and sometimes currency for banners.
    • Enhanced greetings: Chosen Affinity characters greet you on login and Settlement screens.

Quick Step-by-Step: Raising Affinity

  1. Access the Character Affinity menu after clearing Stage 1-4.
  2. On your Home screen, tap “Characters” and select your preferred character.
  3. Tap the Gift icon; select and give gifts from inventory or those purchased with Mutual Aid Points.
  4. Track Affection Level on the upper left. Higher Affinity levels unlock new dialogue, stories, and costumes.
  5. Only owned characters gain Affinity, trial units don’t count.

Relationships & Voice Line Unlocks

  • Characters interact via story and Affinity-based unlocks.
  • Relationship notes:
    • Ereshan & Zero have many unique interlocking story arcs, with special duo voice lines revealed at higher Affinity levels.
    • Affinity unlocks hidden lore memories, sometimes referencing character rivalries (e.g., Zero/Ereshan, Cosmos/Seer).
    • Costumes like Viola’s Radiant series are only obtainable via max Affinity gifting.

Pro Tip: Rotate through gifting for different characters once your main is maxed–especially with time-limited events for Mutual Aid point farming.
